Delete your account

You can permanently delete your Lendlet account and the personal data associated with it at any time. This page explains exactly what happens, what gets kept, and how to make the request.

How to request deletion

  1. Fill out the form below

Tell us the name and email on your Lendlet account. Add a reason if you'd like — it's optional.

  2. We confirm your identity by email

Within one business day, we'll reply to the email you provided. Replying confirms you control the account, which protects you from someone else deleting it.

  3. Wind-down period (if applicable)

If you have an active booking, an open claim, or a pending payout, we'll let those close out first — typically a few days, occasionally longer for a disputed claim. You're welcome to message help@lendlet.co if you have questions during this period.

  4. Account deleted within 30 days of confirmation

We'll delete or irreversibly anonymize your personal data (see “What gets deleted” below) and email you a confirmation. Records we're legally required to retain are detached from your identity and stored as described in “What we have to keep” below.

Prefer email? You can also send a deletion request directly to help@lendlet.co from the email address on your account.

What gets deleted

When we process your request, the following personal data is permanently removed or anonymized so it can't be tied back to you:

  • Profile: display name, avatar, biographical text, phone number.
  • Account credentials: email address, password hash, sign-in sessions, MFA factors.
  • Listings: your published items and their photos.
  • Messages:in-app messages you've sent or received, except where required as evidence in an open claim or dispute (in which case the messages are retained until that claim is closed and then removed on the same schedule below).
  • Favorites and saved searches.
  • Device and analytics identifiers tied to your account (cookies, push tokens, PostHog distinct IDs).

What we have to keep, and for how long

Some records are required by law, by our payment processor (Stripe), or by tax authorities. We retain these even after your account is deleted, but they're kept under restricted access and are detached from your profile so they can't be used to re-identify you in the product:

  • Bookings, payments, payouts, refunds: retained for seven (7) yearsafter the booking closes, to meet IRS recordkeeping rules and Stripe's required transaction retention.
  • Tax forms (e.g., 1099-K issued to lenders): retained for seven (7) years from the year of issuance.
  • Resolved claims (including pickup/return evidence photos and claim correspondence): retained for seven (7) years after the claim is closed, in case the resolution is later disputed.
  • Reviews you wroteabout other users: the review text stays on the reviewed user's profile but the authoring identity is replaced with “Former user.”
  • Identity-verification result (pass/fail and timestamp from Stripe Identity): retained for seven (7) years for fraud-prevention and regulatory purposes. We do not retain images of your ID — those are held by Stripe under their own retention policy.
  • Records required to comply with a legal hold, law-enforcement request, or active investigation: retained for as long as the obligation lasts, then removed on the schedule above.

For the full Privacy Policy, see /privacy §7 (Retention) and §4 (Service providers).
